About

Updated 12 January 2026

HoReCa Innovazione is an independent digital magazine telling the story of hospitality, venues and small out of home entrepreneurship in Italy. We publish stories of operators, sector analysis, practical guides for those standing at the counter trying to do it well.

We were born in January 2024 with a simple idea. The major Italian sector press talks mostly about chains, big brands and national figures. Small local realities, village bars, provincial gelaterias, seaside kiosks, neighbourhood bistros, are often left out of the story. Yet they are the real fabric of Italian hospitality and the primary engine of revenue and employment in the sector.

What we publish

Three main columns, a small specialised editorial team.

Stories, long and well crafted accounts of Italian venue owners and operators. Visits on site, interviews at an open counter, season recaps.

Trends, up to date sector analysis on consumption habits, formats that are working, the numbers that matter. Without fluff, with verifiable sources.

Practice, practical guides for those operating in the daily life of the counter. Food safety, work organisation, equipment, basic accounting consulting, regulations.

The editorial team

Marco Albanese, editor responsible for the Stories section. Lives in Lecce. Has covered the HoReCa supply chain in the regions of the Mezzogiorno for the last eight years.

Giulia Marrone, editor of the Trends section. Lives in Lecce. Spent five years behind the counter of a wine bar in Conversano before moving into sector journalism.

Paolo Liguori, business journalist, regular contributor since 2024. Lives between Rome and Salerno. Has covered the food supply chain for fifteen years.

Elena Caputo, HACCP consultant and contributor to the Practice section. Lives in Naples, has worked for twelve years with small hospitality venues on food safety and staff training.

How we are funded

HoReCa Innovazione has no paid subscriptions. The publication is supported by a combination of three lines. Traditional display advertising, managed selectively. Sponsored content, always identified with the "Sponsored content" label at the top of the article, never hidden, never mixed with the independent editorial. Editorial partnerships with sector entities, openly declared when present.

Our commitment to the reader is transparency. When a piece is sponsored, it is written. When an author has a tie to the subject of the article, it is declared. We believe the trust of the reader matters more than any single article.

Editorial line

We publish in depth articles, not short news. We do not aggregate press releases. We do not publish promotional rankings. When we review a product or a venue we declare it openly. When an article is sponsored, it is clearly distinguished from the rest. Our goal is to be useful to those standing at the counter and to do quality reporting on a sector often overlooked.
